Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will conduct a series of community engagement sessions to learn about the 2026-27 budget process. This is an opportunity for stakeholders to gain a better understanding of where funding comes from, how CMS plans to ensure students receive the resources they need and how the district plans for a future of Endless Possibilities for all students.
Four in-person community engagement sessions are planned to take place at the following schools at 6 p.m.:
- Tuesday, Feb. 17: Hawthorne Academy of Health Sciences (1411 Hawthorne Lane, Charlotte, NC 28205)
- Thursday, Feb. 19: North Academy of World Languages (12201 Hambright Road, Huntersville, NC 28078)
- Tuesday, March 31: Elizabeth Lane Elementary School (121 Elizabeth Lane, Matthews NC 28105)
- Thursday, April 2: Kennedy Middle School (4000 Gallant Lane, Charlotte NC 28273)
A virtual session is planned for Friday, Feb. 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Attendees can log onto https://bit.ly/4qrOOLN.
These sessions are open for all to attend and are an opportunity for families and stakeholders to ask questions and engage with CMS finance and budget experts.
